  • FOUNDER & ECONOMICS TUTOR

    James E. Tierney, originally from upstate N.Y., attended Western New England University, double majoring in math and economics. He volunteered in the math tutoring center and became a Supplemental Instructor for introduction to microeconomics, publishing a paper on his experience. After an internship at MassMutual, James pursued a Master's degree at the University of California, Irvine, focusing on teaching. He has taught at SUNY Plattsburgh and spent over 7 years teaching large-lecture classes of introductory and intermediate macroeconomics at Penn State, including summer LEAP courses for incoming first-year students. James ended his tenure at Penn State in 2021, focusing on his education consulting business and community projects in State College.

  • CHEMISTRY & BIOLOGY TUTOR

    Todd, a Penn State graduate with a Bachelor of Science in General Science and minors in German, Biology, and Mathematics, believes in guiding students to excel in science and mathematics. With experience as a teaching assistant and research in maize genetics, Todd earned a Master of Medical Science degree from Drexel in 2014, focusing on combating surgical site infections. Now back in Happy Valley, Todd brings his expertise to instructional roles in the Chemistry Department.
