Miguel Fernandez

Physics & Math Tutor

Miguel Fernandez is a physicist at Penn State University, focusing on early universe cosmology and the interface of general relativity and quantum mechanics. If that sounds scary, don't worry, my other passion is physics and mathematics pedagogy! I have strong convictions of how beautiful and elegant and fun physics is, which is something that sadly I don't think gets across very often in the standard physics curriculum. The first priority is always - understanding comes from first principles, and everything you do in your starting physics or engineering studies is a logic chain that almost propels you from one step to the next - but it doesn't work if you've missed a link! Let me help you identify where the missing link is, aid you in learning how to know what you don't know, and give you a way to not only complete your homework, but understand physics! Miguel Fernandez is a recipient of the Graduate Teaching Award from the Penn State Physics department.
