Mike Shaqfeh is a Senior in Schreyer Honors College at Penn State majoring in chemical engineering and minoring in accounting. Growing up around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he moved to York, Pennsylvania when he was 10. He plans to become a commercial consultant after college, utilizing a technical background to understand the inner workings of production. Mike enjoys going to the gym and playing sports as well as being the secretary of Sigma Pi fraternity. Recently, he has been infatuated with chess. He has 3 semesters as a Guided Study Group Leader through Penn State Learning, teaching macroeconomics to audiences in excess of 100 students. Believing anyone can learn when taught correctly, Mike has practiced multiple teaching strategies through the Guided Study Group program with great success. Honors rhetoric classes have made him experienced in public speaking, writing and identifying correct rhetoric usage. He is very excited to help you learn and bring his skills to Tierney Education. Most importantly, Mike is a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan (Go birds!).

Random Fact: I am probably the worst golfer to ever hit a birdie!
