Matthew Rice

Math & Economics Tutor

Matt is a second-year mathematics and economics double major with a 4.00 overall GPA. He is from Lancaster, Pennsylvania and was enrolled at Penn State Harrisburg campus before transferring to State College. Throughout his time at Harrisburg, he was in the honors program and involved on-campus and in the community. During his first year, Matt was a senator in the Student Government Association and the Secretary of the IEEE club. Additionally, he was appointed to be the Judge of Elections by Lancaster County and oversaw the election proceedings at his local polling place. Over his first summer he did research in evaluating the significance between Google searches and COVID-19 cases in South Central Pennsylvania. He also worked as tutor in Harrisburg where he earned his College Reading and Learning Association [tutoring] certification.

Random Fact:Matt enjoys playing chess in his spare time (1. d4 as white). Feel free to ask to play a game!
